Summary
Provide a rising junior or senior Accounting major with an opportunity to apply the accounting and Microsoft Excel skills they have learned doing actual accounting work.
Purpose and Mission
The intern will work on one or more of the following projects:
Permissible plan administration billing project
Accounts Receivable - cash applications
Benefit Payments - researching state payroll tax requirements and creating a spreadsheet and/or database to track compliance
Accounts Payable - processing vendor invoice payments
Payroll - payroll tax and withholding reconciliations
Requirements and Qualifications
Study towards a degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting
Completed at least 6 semester hours of Accounting classes and received at least a B in all Accounting classes
Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to quickly learn applicable regulations and other guidelines and apply them
This is an intern position.
3.0 or above GPA required and Must be a rising junior or senior
Dates: May 19th thru August 8th, 2014
Wages: $17 per hour

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
