Database Engineer III - SSIS/ETL (140037)

The SSIS/ETL developer will be responsible for the delivery of current ETL data feeds and ongoing efforts to improve ETL procedures to support the enterprise data warehouse. Ensuring that data import/export processes run smoothly as well as trouble shoot / correct any issues associated with import/export failures. Responsibilities will include development of new SSIS packages, and collaboration with Business Analysts/Owners to gather data requirements, data mapping and QA of the data and code to be deployed.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Design, development and deployment of ETL procedures and automation initiatives on SQL Server 2008 platform, Hadoop and Vertica.
Assist in data analysis and data modeling.
Development and Maintenance of ETL packages to support the EDW and datamarts
Proactively monitor systems for optimum database performance and capacity requirements.
Database optimization, understanding and implementation of schemas, and the ability to interpret and write complex SQL queries.
Administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the data security and integrity of the company Data Warehouse.
Automation and enhancement of existing store procedures and ETL packages.
Mentor junior members of the team.
Required:
ETL, Data warehousing; aggregation, reporting and data mining o Strong SQL Server and (TSQL) skills. o Ability to write and debug complex SSIS packages.
Strong ETL skills using SSIS and other ETL tools.
Preferred experience with Microsoft BI Stack
Experience with Hadoop and MPP databases is desired
Query optimization techniques, including table indexing and analyzing execution plans.
Advanced understanding of relational database concepts.
Data Analysis - Experience consolidating disparate data sets into usable data.
Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with other team members and management.
Experience with development and implementation of Dashboard reporting and analytics is desirable
Preferred experience with Tableau, Cognos or other BI reporting tools.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT, or demonstrated equivalent experience
6 or more years of SSIS/ETL experience
Microsoft certification desirable
