Group Patent Counsel
The candidate will protect firm?s technical and marketing developments in assigned businesses by advising on, then obtaining and maintaining desired patent, trademark, trade secret and other IP rights therein. Will enforce firm IP rights against third party infringers including formulating legal strategies, evaluating settlement options, supervising outside litigation counsel, managing litigation and negotiating settlements. Avoid infringement of third party IP rights by timely searches and clearances of firm technical and marketing developments. Defend third party infringement claims against firm including formulating legal strategies, evaluating settlement options, supervising outside litigation counsel, managing litigation and negotiating settlements. Opposing, revoking and/or reexamining competitor?s IP rights. Preparing and/or negotiating IP aspects of assignment, license, development, confidentiality and acquisition/divestiture agreements. Coordinate IP activities with firm?s Slough Patent Department, as necessary. Provide IP education to technical and marketing staff of assigned businesses on an as-needed, periodic basis.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
