Job Description:
The candidate selected for this role will support TI's ultra-low noise clock generators and clock buffers for wireless infrastructure and wired communications markets. Knowledge and experience in Digital Phase Locked Loop based clocking applications and target markets is highly preferred.
This position requires the ability to independently prioritize, organize and manage tasks in the context of product line objectives as well as those of the broader business unit.
The candidate will work closely with design and marketing to create product definitions; engages in product characterization and testing in the lab; prepares customer collateral such as data sheets, application notes and training materials; designs PCBs that enable customers to evaluate clocking products. This position provides critical customer support that includes creation of clocking system designs to meet customer requirements; review of customer designs, and investigation of customer reported issues related to clocking and timing products. This position will require considerable interaction with both customers and field staff. Some travel is required.
Knowledge and Skills:
The ideal candidate should have experience in a majority of the following areas:
Providing Customer support via email, phone and in-person
An understanding of the principles of Digital Phase Locked Loops, Loop Filter design, phase noise and jitter
Experience with design, simulation and analysis tools at the component and system level
Proficiency in Cadence Allegro PCB schematic and layout
Familiarity with testing clocking products to comply with one of the following standards:
ITU-T G.813, G.8262 and ITU-T G.709
Strong Communications Skills (written and verbal)
Some experience in developing software used in lab automation
Responsibilities Include:
Creating system level test plans for new products
Performing system level tests and documenting results
Authoring device datasheets, applications notes and user guides
Creating customer tools that aid clocking system analysis and design-in.
Conducting Technical Training (product and system level training for customers and field staff)
Providing Customer Support via email, phone and in-person
Requirements: 6 years with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent); 4 years with a master's degree (or equivalent)
This position will be based in Santa Clara, CA.
