Our client, located South of Boston, is a global biopharmaceutical company that develops products for multiple therapeutic areas. We are looking for an Associate Director, Product Communications to focus on several therapeutic areas within the U.S. This person will report to the head of communications in the U.S. The Associate Director will set the communications strategy so that the business can achieve its business and scientific plans and goals. The role also drives the positive reputation of the company through digital, media and advertising support.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement the US communications strategy for products and product candidates, which includes overseeing US media relations related to products/pipeline, disease states, and advocacy activities; proactively build relationships with key health, consumer, business and trade media to raise visibility for the company's products/programs and leadership
Raise the organizations' profile as a top specialty care company and medical leader in the US
Position the franchise and R&D expertise in a positive light by managing clinical and regulatory milestones, pre-launch and launch communications, internal, community and executive communications
Provide strategic and communications counsel to various executives, including spokesperson preparation and coaching
Develop communications materials, including Q&As, press releases, fact sheets, interview briefs, messaging, presentations, etc.
Manage issues should they arise
Work with patients, advocacy groups, associations, and key influencers
Coordinate and develop content for digital properties and utilize social media channels to drive awareness
Manage external agencies and vendors





QUALIFICATIONS

years of experience, ideally in a corporate role, promoted branded pharmaceutical products
Strong aptitude for dealing with scientific issues
Creative - able to formulate and execute new approaches to communications problems.
Expert in regulatory functions and access issues
Hands on issues management and crisis communications guru
Established relationships and credibility with business, health and trade media
Strong social media and digital knowledge from a similarly regulated environment
Combination of being strategically-minded and tactically-focused
Outstanding communication skills - in writing and verbally
BA/BS degree required; Master's degree a plus
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
