Job Details:
A registered professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery of perioperative nursing care to the surgical patients in pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phases utilizing the continuum of the nursing process which includes assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and re-assessment. Directs and guides ancillary personnel in maintaining patient care and unit standards. Identifies patient, assesses health staus and develops an individualized plan of care. Implements plan of care to provide optimum individualized care with direct nursing interventions to achieve these goals. Documents nursing activities on the Operating Room log sheet to provide a permanent record. Plans, supervises and assists in all phases of patient transfer and positioning while maximizing safety.
Qualifications/Competencies:
Must have either a current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license or an RN license recognized by the Nurse Licensure Compact ( ). If RN licensure is from a compact state, must obtain a state of Maine RN license within 90 days of changing primary residency toMaine.
BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred.
1 year of experience is preferred.
Proficiency in a suite of Microsoft Office applications.
