Develops and fosters extremely strong working relationships with both internal and external customers.
Purchases parts, materials, and supplies for the plant using the material requirement planning (MRP) report and KanBan system.
Manages plant inventory levels which includes ordering the correct quantities, determining the appropriate lead times, tracking the available storage space, and identifying reasons that require inventory adjustments
Develops relationship with suppliers through managing accounts, visiting suppliers, understanding commodities, in-house meetings, etc.
Monitors and rates supplier performance through delivery/quality reports and routine communication.
Works in conjunction with the quality department to handle rejected material, notifying supplier of quality problems,
processing defective parts, and improving overall supplier performance.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in business or related field.
Three plus years of purchasing experience including negotiating with suppliers and managing supplier relationships and performance.
Ability to develop new sources of supply
Previous experience providing work direction.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
