Our client is a 50 person insurance brokerage firm based in Westchester NY. One of the niches it has developed is a specialty in insuring real estate, mostly habitational real estate. The client has grown its share of this market place through the use of its workers compensation safety group, and its access to property managers by being the insurance consultant to both the Realty Institute of Westchester and the Co-op and Condo Council of Westchester.
Our has direct strong relations with the major carriers for this industry: CMJ, Fireman?s Fund, GNY, Philadelphia, Tower, and Travelers.
Within our client's organization, one of the principals manages the real estate book of business with a real estate team of 5 Account Executives and 4 Assistants. The average premium size of an account is $50,000.
The responsibilities of this manager will be to:
-oversee the workflow of the 9 person department
-manage the marketing of new and renewals within the department
-be the liaison with the insurance carriers that insure this marketplace
-attend co-op, condo board meetings
-possibly manage a handful of VIP accounts
They expect this manager to come to their organization with significant knowledge of the habitational real estate market place, including coverages, pricing, and markets. We do not expect this manager to be bringing a book of business to our client

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
