Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator is committed to:
Oversees and coordinates company safety program and handles all processes relating to safety training, safety committee and workplace injury claims
Job Duties
Facilitate monthly Health & Safety Improvement Committee meetings to discuss and take action on health and safety opportunities
Investigates workplace accidents and security incidents. Completes Incident Reports and handles other required paperwork. Documents findings and proposes corrective actions, focusing on preventative measures.
Ensures that all recordable injuries and illnesses have been documented on OSHA 300 Logs.
Creates, implement, and sustain a safety audit process and checklist for leadership team
Assist and serve as a resource for safety teams to utilize their knowledge of day-to-day operations regarding safety. Assist teams to arrive at the accident root cause(s) and to develop an action plan and follow up system that eliminates reoccurrence.
Coordinate the administration of workers compensation claim handling.
Coordinates Emergency Response Activities in the areas of environmental regulatory permitting, accident, fire prevention and other safety-related areas with special focus on flood preparation and planning.
Responsible for on-site security function.
## Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience
AA/BA/BS degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum 3 years of safety experience required.
Knowledge and understanding of OSHA guidelines regarding General Occupational Health.
Workers'' compensation claim administration experience required.
Ability to provide leadership, effectively train people and run meetings.
Demonstrated ability to creatively problem-solve and work with diverse sets of employees, supervisors, managers, agencies and vendors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and understand abstract documents and instructions in English.
Proven ability to recommend appropriate action to ensure compliance with company policies and state and federal laws.
Ability to be flexible in daily and/or weekly scheduling.
Ability to drive a car from one Carlisle IT location to another.
Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
