POSITION Overview:
A User Experience Researcher / IA will gather, analyzes and provides data and feedback to a user experience team to inform design decisions. The UX Researcher will be expected to use various methods of data gathering to collect needs and opinions directly from users/customers and business stakeholders and produce research deliverables in a format that is easy to understand and incorporate.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
Conduct primary user research including but not limited to surveys, interviews, focus groups, diary studies, day in the life studies and other observational data.
Gather business needs and organizational information from business stakeholders and subject matter experts
Conduct UX evaluations and usability tests of existing systems and project prototypes and provide usability reports and analysis
Analyze and organize content independently or with a content strategist in a way that is usable and understandable to users
Lead junior team members on conducting user research activities
Conduct content inventory and analysis of existing data and information
Work with UX designers on how the research can inform the design decisions
Qualifications:
BA/BS preferred

years user experience and research experience required
2
years UX project lead experience preferred
Experience leading User Experience Research activities for large scale UX projects required
Experience conducting UX Research within large organizations preferred
Experience conducting and leading content analysis and information architecture efforts preferred
Knowledge of User Experience process
Comprehensive knowledge of user research methods and practices
Knowledge of all aspects of usability testing and analysis
Working knowledge of information architecture and UX design
Ability to create final deliverable documents for UX research
Understanding of technology constraints on UX and UI design
Ability to both operate independently as well as part of a larger team
Experience managing projects preferred
Strong presentation / communication skills
Ability to manage and service multiple projects
PLUSES:
Visual design for interactive projects.
Strong understanding of UX visual design.
Using IA, IXD and Visual Design files
Client-side code including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Experience with web standards.
Testing and optimizing code for various web browsers and devices
