Linux Systems Administrator

Responsibilities:
Manage and support a rapidly-growing, mission-critical, IT environment.
Provide expert level Linux support to end user desktop and server environments.
Work closely with the launch and mission engineering teams, both local and remote, to ensure customer satisfaction is high.
Install and configure servers, storage and other IT datacenter systems.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as nightly backups.
Identify methodologies and processes to improve efficiencies, reduce risk, and/or improve availability and performance of the supported systems.
Skills and
Experience:
A minimum 3 years experience in Linux administration, including recent versions of Debian and Ubuntu
Required:
Deployment and management of puppet configuration management system
Deployment and management of Kerberos-enabled and nslcd or sssd identity management systems
Deployment and management of logstash, kibana, and/or elasticsearch
Experienced writing scripts with python, php, and JavaScript a plus
Motivated self-starter personality, able to work independently while maintaining patience with the constant interruptions of needy coworkers.
