Job Description
The unit controller provides indirect patient care for the department. The unit controller schedules all operative and invasive procedures for the department. The unit controller provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to the department; maintaining an efficient, well-organized department by keeping supplies available. The unit controller records statistics and runs reports as requested. The unit controller communicates information accurately in a pleasant and efficient manner to a variety of individuals, including but not limited to patients, families, nursing and medical staff, and other departments. The unit controller functions as a resource to members of the health care team in matters pertaining to non-direct patient care and is familiar with multiple our organization resources, carries out all aspects of the job using good judgment and problem-solving skills, and assumes responsibility for self-development with the role.
Basic
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology. Prefer one (1) year experience as surgery scheduler or unit secretary.
Other
Qualifications:
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer skills. Ability to type minimum of 40 wpm. Leadership, problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and team building. Basic improvement concepts and techniques.
License or Certification:

Hours/Pay Period:Full-time; 72 hours per pay period
Schedule Details:Monday - Friday 5:30 am - 6:00 pm
Weekend Schedule:None
Compensation Detail:Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $14.69 per hour.
