Summary:
This position is responsible for the hotel and all front desk related functions during the hours of 11:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times and maintain the hotel''s high standard of service and hospitality.
Greet and register guests and provide room assignments accommodating special requests whenever possible.
Handle guest check ins and checkouts efficiently and in a friendly and professional manner.
Communicate with previous shift, organize shift and review remaining reservations that are to arrive.
Verify that all updated contingency reports have been run.
Resolve any discrepancies with departments out of balance.
Ensure credit card draft capture is in balance.
Print registration cards for next day arrivals.
Verify GTD no shows and complete walked guest report.
Complete express checkouts envelopes and USA Today papers, and have them delivered to guest doors before 5:00 A.M.
Assist guests with general services such as check cashing, making change, and answering any general questions.
Ensure that all wake up calls are handled promptly and properly.
Complete a person in charge security report identifying any unusual events and place on the General Manager''s desk for review.
Post room charges, food and beverage charges, phone charges, compute guest bills using PMS, collect payment following all cash handling procedures as required.
Balance accounts to zero as well as all restaurant credit card accounts.
Balance all rebates, paid outs, and misc. charges. Inform management of any discrepancies.
Prepare A.M. Housekeeping Reports recording same day checkouts, stay overs, etc. Break out the house using appropriate methods.
Complete, print and leave all required reports at the assigned areas for designated managers.
Conduct ongoing verification of hotel security with the Night Housekeeping/Security Aide using the two way radio system.
Monitor Night Housekeeping/Security Aide to ensure the assigned duties are completed.
Represent the Hotel in regard to guest complaints and situations that require immediate attention.
Have a thorough knowledge of all restaurant register systems, call accounting systems, in room movies, downtime procedures (in case computers go down) etc.
During down time, inspect the desk area for cleanliness, refill supplies as needed, inventory items as assigned.
Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
Train the Night Housekeeping/Security Aide to answer Front Desk phones, check in''s etc. to ensure the desk is always attended.
Moves luggage or packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
Supports the hospitality programs to ensure their success.
Through training programs, continues to practice skills taught.
Wear proper uniform at all times as specified in associate handbook.
Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the associate handbook.
Other related duties may also be assigned.

Qualifications
THIS POSITION REQUIRES:
High school education or GED equivalent.
Some documented hospitality industry experience or some formal travel agency or related college training.
Must be familiar with computer systems and cash handling.
BACKGROUND POSITION RANKING SKILL LEVELS:
Language skills sufficient to:
1.Read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence and memos.
2. Write simple correspondence.
3. Effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients or associates.
Math skills sufficient to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, or volume.
Reasoning abilities sufficient to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. One must also be able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee is regularly required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, to walk and occasionally sit.
The employee must regularly lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level is usually quiet.
