About the Agency
This position is a developmental position and is located in the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Lands Highway Division. You will be assigned progressively more responsible structural design duties while gradually assuming the role as a technical resource to other agency professionals, agency officials, field employees, and private A/E firms from preliminary planning through construction. The projects occur primarily on Federal lands managed by other Federal agencies, such as the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service, and cover a multi-state area. Work encompasses the design and repair of a wide variety and range of structures.
The ideal candidate for this position is a structural engineer with experience effectively working in a structures team environment; providing bridge design services such as Plans, Specifications, and Estimates packages; and using CADD and design software programs in detailing structures.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
