Job Description
Summary:The Youth Programs Supervisor is responsible for the development, planning, organization, supervision and successful implementation of a quality youth programs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the daily operations of youth camps
Assist Activities Manager with the organization and facilitation of convention recreation and special event programming
Assist Director of Recreation and Activities Manager with the development of new recreation programming and provides feedback from guests and associates on current recreation offerings
Responsible for providing leadership and group organization in an enthusiastic, positive manner, encouraging participation for people involved in the activity
Responsible for registration, waiver forms, cashiering and maintaining accurate records of attendance to satisfy administrative and accounting needs
Assist with the supervision of 6-10 staff members including; training, scheduling, employee relations, and discipline
Provides for the participant s safety and comfort at all times;administers first aid and responds to emergencies as required
Regularly promotes Sunriver activities and programs by being knowledgeable of Sunriver outlets, upcoming activities and special events; must be able to positively respond to guest inquiries
Assist with the promotion and distribution of marketing materials
Promoting and utilizing our mascot Spike the porcupine
Responsible for tracking inventory for all youth programs on a weekly basis and coordinate ordering with the activities manager
Works economically to control the cost of operating supplies
Comply with Sunriver Resort policies and procedures; responsible for following safety regulations, in order to maintain a safe and pleasant work environment and actively contributes toward a safe workplace

Required Qualifications
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
College degree required in Recreation Management, Elementary Education or a related field
Two years experience in educational, recreational, or related areas which include working with a varied age children strongly preferred
One year of supervisory experience
Background or experience in seasonal and holiday recreational events and activities strongly preferred
Hospitality experience strongly preferred
JOB REQUIRMENTS:
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
Must be CPR and First Aid certified
Must have valid Oregon drivers license and meet company driving standards
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must be able to work well under pressure
Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
Must possesses excellent communication skills
Must be able to work well under pressure
Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
Must always ensure a teamwork environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat);
Must be able to personally lift up to 40 lbs. on a frequent basis;
Must be able to work outside on consistent basis;
Must be able to stand on feet throughout the day;
Must be able to occasionally lift over 40 lbs with assistance;
Must be able to bend, squat crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces and reach on a continuous basis.
