We have an immediate contract opportunity for a Scientist, with one of our F500 clients in Hunt Valley, MD.
Responsibilities:
The QM Scientist is responsible for assisting in the development of experiments or test methods, execution of experiments or test methods, analysis of results and interpretation/reporting of results. The QM Scientist will perform various routine laboratory tasks and specialized assignments of moderate scope and complexity. Will present scientific results to others orally and in writing and prepare/submit technical documents for external presentations/publications. Is responsible for technical support of the manufactured product, process and/or supplier quality. Supports product and technology transfers.
o utilize various methods to isolate and identify microorganisms from multiple sources for routine quality control
o provide microbiological consult and perform product evaluations for investigative projects
o perform bioburden and other microbiological testing of processed water, raw materials, and finished products
o perform environmental monitoring in controlled processing areas
o assist Operations in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements for environmental monitoring and control
o record, analyze, trend and report test data, compare test results to acceptance specifications, communicate and recommend corrective actions when appropriate
o manage the inventory of laboratory supplies and maintenance of laboratory equipment
o create, revise, review and approve laboratory procedures
Qualifications:
o Experienced with various microbial identification techniques, including manual and automated identification systems
o Applies a broad range of Science or quality systems principles to moderately complex tasks
o Capable of readily identifying, analyzing problems and develop/present recommended solutions
o Have demonstrated analytical skills using databases and statistical software
o Experienced using standard quantitative and qualitative methods
o Able to collect, analyze data and present results either orally or in writing
o Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively with large multifunctional teams
o Experience in handling biological or chemical samples and knowledge of GLP
