PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk support the receipt and shipment of raw materials and products that come into the warehouse
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk has the responsibility of receiving, shipment, unpacking and counting inventory that comes into the warehouse and identify any discrepancies reports the information to Shift Supervisor. The Shipping/Receiving Clerk reports to the Warehouse Site Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
1) Manage accuracy of data into receiving and inventory computer systems
2) Support the receipt of goods to support our customer base
3) Process necessary documents for receiving and shipments of goods
4) Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the shift supervisor
5) Fairly and consistently implement and enforce policies and procedures
6) Hold self and others to a high standard for Safety and Quality
7) Maintain effective customer relationships to ensure satisfaction
8) Participate in and adequately support continuous improvement activities
9) Identify and correct potential safety hazards in the facility
10) Abide by the Bluegrass Core Values at all times
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Skills & Abilities)
1) High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
2) Minimum of one (1) year shipping and/or receiving experience in a warehouse setting
3) Strong computer skills including advanced Excel and WMS experience
4) Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
5) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6) Knowledge of proper packaging methods and ability to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements
7) Ability to perform but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, enter into the computer the correct information, use bar code scanner, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
May be exposed to warehouse conditions with extreme temperatures for extended periods of time while working with associates, may be required to lift up to 50 pounds
TOOLS AND/OR EQUIPMENT USED:
Computers, telephone, general office equipment, material handling equipment, box cutters/knives may also be used
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Pay: $12 per hour
