Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway is currently looking for an IT Technician to join the team.
Your daily responsibilities include:

Receive, record, resolve and follow up on end-user problems or system malfunctions with desktop and portable computers and peripheral equipment and application software
Maintain records of problem reports, resolution and follow-up in the IT helpdesk software application
Install, configure, repair, upgrade, and maintain desktop and portable computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
Work with other IT staff in first-level or second-level support of other IT assets and resources, including wide-ranging general IT support issues
Plan, document, implement and maintain preventative maintenance procedures and practices to ensure maximum availability and optimal performance of computers and other hardware
Maintain records of software licensing and hardware maintenance contracts / agreements
Maintain records of inventories of computer hardware, software, media and documentation
Order, issue, and manage supplies of IT consumables and operating supplies
Provide inventory reports to the Accounting Department for the issuance of consumables and operating supplies to end-user departments
Work with other IT staff, as assigned by the IT Manager, to plan, document, implement and maintain the Disaster Recovery Plan, including routine testing/practice of DR Plan procedures
Work with other IT staff, as assigned by the IT Manager, to perform system security procedures and practices to safeguard the Company's vital data against unauthorized access, tampering, or destruction
Work with other IT staff, as assigned by the IT Manager, to perform system data backup procedures and practices including monitoring backup jobs, rotating tapes, offsite storage, and testing of backup media
Work with other IT staff, as assigned by the IT Manager, to maintain application and operating system configurations and user accounts and privileges
Work with other IT staff to monitor system and application performance
Recommend and implement performance tuning (optimization) strategies
Recommend upgrades or purchases/acquisitions that will improve system performance, user productivity, or customer satisfaction and/or reduce costs
Analyze and recommend creation or changes to department procedures or policies to demonstrate and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards including Sarbanes-Oxley Act, gaming laws/ gambling control board regulations, Internal Control documents and IT industry-standard Best Practices.
Stay informed on new technologies with a view towards integrating them into the company's IT strategies.
Demonstrate expertise in a variety of IT concepts, practices and procedures
Plan and accomplish goals relying on extensive experience and best judgment
May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be a top-level contributor / specialist

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent; Technical degree in computer sciences is preferred
Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Access, Word)
Three years of work related experience in desktop computer support in a large network environment
Relevant technical certifications (such as A-Plus) or documented vendor training is preferred
Additional demonstrable knowledge or experience in other IT related areas is preferred, such as IBM iSeries/AS400 operations; Microsoft Exchange Server; Symantec Backup Exec; Microsoft SQL Server; Cisco LAN/WAN administration; and converged voice/data networks (VOIP)
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
Must be a highly motivated self starter who is eager to contribute to overall departmental and company success.
Must be willing to share night-and-weekend on-call duty as part of the IT department team
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
