Unix Systems Administrator

Medium to high skill level Unix systems administrator will perform the following duties: install, configure, maintain, upgrade, patch, secure and troubleshoot AIX and/or Linux systems. The administrator will also be responsible for providing support for hardware, OS, software applications and networking to internal customers in a fast moving production environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Linux administration, including SUSE, RedHat and Oracle Enterprise Linux.
AIX administration
VMware ESX administration.
Shell scripting.

years of UNIX/Linux administration.
Minimum 4 year degree required.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
Assist senior Unix administrators by, executing change plans, updating configurations, collecting inventory, analyzing results, auditing compliance.
Build new systems and assist application owners with the installation and maintenance of their software.
Provide high level of customer satisfaction through the effective delivery of technical support and service.
Provide problem isolation and suggest resolution.
Other Desired Knowledge
Networking concepts including routing, firewalls and load balancing.
Java/J2EE applications running on WebSphere, WebLogic and Tomcat.
WebSphere MQ Series
Puppet Enterprise
Splunk
SNMP
Orion Solarwinds
