Scope of Position:
Provide operational support required to manage foundational IP information and protect CDT IP. Plays a key role in the identification, evaluation, and monitoring of published competitor patents, and related publications. Supports established processes and tools for execution of the CDT IP legal and IA department strategies/plans, contributes to efficiency, continuous improvement, and process changes in response to changes in business requirements.
Day to Day
Responsibilities:
Administration of routine processes and execution of tasks for Intellectual Property (IP) review, including:
Documentation of meeting outcomes.
Maintenance of IP related data repositories.
Management of library of translated patent documents.
Development of meeting agenda.
Follow up on meeting action items.
Process management tracking and metrics to measure output, processing rates, progress against backlogs and competitor activity in areas of particular interest.
Support competitive patent landscape maintenance and analysis to enable team decision making, management communications, and reviews.
Support competitive IP risk assessment activities in partnership with the business and IP Department; gather background on practice and develop supporting data as needed.
Participate in IP mining sessions; track the generation and submission of Invention Disclosures.
Deliver IP related process and procedure training to team members as needed
Ensure Intellectual Asset Protection (IAP) guidelines followed within CDT development team
Participate in the SP CDT IAP Team, lead/participate in general office/lab audits (5S/Safety/IAP), preparations and coordination associated with internal IAP audits or external assessments
Execute small ad-hoc projects such as simple patent searches, special reports, spreadsheet based data consolidation & analysis.
Intranet website and SharePoint maintenance and security administration as primary or back-up as needed for the department
Coordination of special events, training, recognitions, etc. as needed
Travel Requirements (please note if international):
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
40hrs/week plus travel, and periodic off hour conference calls

Required Education:
BS in STEM, Information Management, or Data Science. MS would be an advantage.
Required Years and Area of Experience
New graduate, 1-3 years of experience working with patent information preferred. Experience with Cornings fusion technology would be an advantage.

Well organized and prepared to handle large amounts of information.
Oral and written communication, including ability to create informative visuals (plots, tables or other graphics) to illustrate complex relationships for a diverse range of stakeholders.
Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel with ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
Ability to develop processes and related metrics
Ability to understand new technologies and concepts quickly
Ability to multitask, work independently with general direction, and handle large/variable workload volume
Team player with ability to build networks with technical business professionals
Comfortable with ambiguity as well as rapid change
General knowledge of Cornings technology or a high interest in learning about it.
Desired Skills:
Previous experience/exposure to patent publications, searching, analysis, and management of the associated complexities.
Demonstrated successful participation and facilitation of cross functional teams in a global business environment (across times zones, language, and cultural challenges)
Computer science skills to facilitate data management and production of reports and visual graphics.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
