The L-3 National Security Solutions (NSS) Team has an immediate opportunity for a Veteran Farsi Language Analyst in Annapolis Junction, MD.
L-3 Veteran Linguists are characterized as personnel who take maximum advantage of the research tools and resources available.
They know how to perform their assigned tasks smoothly and efficiently. They shall be the focal points for coordination the organization or resources and information in support of the mission and operational requirements.
They shall serve as a final contractor authority on the summaries, translations and transcripts produced. He / She shall act as coaches and mentors to those linguists having less experience, training and project knowledge; they shall provide them with timely and appropriate feedback and identify the most feasible and suitable approaches for operational training.
Qualifications
Veteran Linguists are expected to, but not limited to, perform the following tasks.
Perform at final quality control level on transcripts and translations, ensuring that the final product is a faithful and accurate rendition of the original material.
Provide on-line assistance to other linguists.
Produce accurate and polished translations during final quality control, ensuring that the final version maintains to the contact and style of the original text.
Produce final summaries from various sources of printed traffic and written communications.
Familiar with SIGINT Tools.
Veteran linguists must have a minimum of ten (10) years of transcription, translation or other language-related cryptologic experience.
They must have extensive experience in language, literature, linguistics, or related humanistic fields.
The Veteran Linguist must have the advanced linguistic knowledge, diverse background, and expertise required to quality control the entire spectrum of cryptologic voice processing and graphic tasks.
They must have demonstrated superior and professional competency in their previous assignments and positions.
Basic internet research skills and an understanding of telecommunications and computer network communication fundamentals are desired.
Performance at Level 3 in listening, reading and translation as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) is required.
Position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a (Top Secret/SCI/ With Poly) US government security clearance.
