Front Office Software Engineer
As a Front Office Software Engineer, you will specialize in building responsive and elegant web UIs with JAVA/SQL and similar technologies. You will play a key role in helping build next-generation web applications for our portfolio managers and traders. If you want to join a buy side team of portfolio managers where your work will have an impact, this is the team for you. You will gain a holistic perspective on arbitrage and corporate event strategies as our group is integrated with the core portfolio management team. Sitting on the portfolio management desk allows for interaction with decision makers daily, and provides for the opportunity to learn hedge fund strategies and expand your knowledge of corporate finance, investment management, and trading. The software you design and build will have an immediate impact on the team around you. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn as well as to teach, and should be ready to work hard in a highly rewarding and fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain portfolio management systems
Assist portfolio managers solving problems as needed
Learn currently implemented strategies and investment style
Assist researchers in management of large data sets
Requirements
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
Strong Java skills; 4
years of building web applications
Strong SQL skills; experience with MS SQL Server
Ability to work independently and part of a teamEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
