Site Reliability Engineer
ZS Associates, a global leader in sales and marketing effectiveness, seeks a highly motivated Site Reliability Engineer to join the SaaS Operations team located in our Evanston, Illinois office.
Acting as a technical expert, you will be working with a team of operations engineers and software developers to analyze, maintain and nurture our SaaS environment. As a technical expert, you will be working closely with various teams to ensure the stability of the environment by:
? Analyzing the current state, designing appropriate solutions and implementing them with the appropriate team
? Coordinating emergency responses, performing root cause analysis, and identifying and implementing solutions to prevent re-occurrences of issues
? Reviewing the entire application stack and executing initiatives to reduce failures, defects and issues with performance
? Working with application teams to increase mean-time-to-failure and lower mean-time-to-resolution for the product
Your responsibilities will also include:
? Troubleshooting issues across the full stack (hardware, software, network, storage, virtual machines, and applications)
? Performing root cause analysis on incoming infrastructure alerts and drilling down to code-level to engage application teams for quick resolution
? Acting as a senior escalation engineer for Tier 3 support
? Maintaining monitoring systems to provide the best visibility into the state of the SaaS environment
? Identifying and working with application teams to implement more efficient system procedures
? Maintaining performance analysis tools, identifying any negative changes to performance and working with the teams to resolve them
? Researching industry trends and technologies, and promoting best-in-class tools and technologies
? Taking initiative to advance the quality, performance, and scalability of our SaaS applications by influencing the architecture and design of our products
? Designing, developing and executing automated tests to validate solutions and environments

Qualifications
? At least 4 years of experience working as a Site Reliability Engineer or an equivalent position or 10 years of overall experience, preferably in systems engineering and software development
? Deep Windows systems knowledge and administration background, Linux experience is a plus
? Expertise in at least one scripting language, PowerShell preferred
? Firm understanding of networking concepts and technologies
? Firm understanding of SQL and database concepts
? Experience in fault tolerant system design
? Extensive experience managing clusters of virtualized production servers
? Familiarity with Splunk data analysis, Dynatrace APM, or similar tools is a plus
? A Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in a related technical field
? Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills
ZS is a global consulting firm; English fluency is required, additional fluency in at least one European or Asian language is highly desired.
