Within approved policies and guidelines, plans, organizes, directs and controls all operations in the maintenance cost center to maximize quality, delivery and manufacturing profit and ensure a safe working environment. High school education or equivalent desired with continuing education and 5 years manufacturing experience required including supervisory management skills to perform the job. 8 years minimum previous maintenance experience is required.

Responsibilities (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:)
Uses appropriate techniques to reduce material, labor and overhead costs and constantly seeks to improve productivity through efficient utilization of all resources.
Approves requisitions for issuance of maintenance items necessary for cost center operations.
Establishes action plans for self and others to accomplish specific objectives; planning proper assignments of personnel and allocating the appropriate resources.
Provides daily guidance, coordination, and discipline to all aspects of cost center operations to assure attainment of objectives; maintains, and monitors data information to assure accuracy and fairness of measures of performance.
Ensures job talks are conducted on a regular basis with staff.
Maintains adherence to Company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices to help each employee do their job effectively.
Organizes cost center on a sound and consistent basis to enhance objective achievement.
Develops Standards of Performance for and conducts performance reviews of all subordinates.
Provides equipment maintenance data information for cost center operations, maintains and monitors preventative maintenance program and equipment costs data.
Maintains manufacturing equipment in a proper mode to assure a consistent operation that will allow required product quality and delivery standards to be met.
Encourages employee participation in submitting ideas, cost improvement (START) goals to insure employee motivation, analyzes and furnishes data to upper management.
Provides leadership guidance in cost center operations and encourages teamwork.
Directs cost center activities in a manner that by the highest standards will be judged
Honest and moral, in a way that will reflect favorably on Matthews' heritage and image and in a form consistent with the Corporate Creed.
Establishes long-term vision for Maintenance Department in conjunction with Management and works to implement that vision over time.
Adheres to the Matthews Manufacturing System (MMS) rules & guidelines, and uses SQDV to improve maintenance processes.
Strives to maintain a safe department and safe workplace with the target of zero incidents. Strictly adheres to all safety protocol and required safety training.
