Business Development Manager - Embedded

Job Purpose:
Responsible for managing vendor and customer accounts to ensure accuracy and performance goals are met while negotiating and selling terms and conditions with customers to secure revenue and service the customer base.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under general direction, contact vendors, suppliers and customers to create demand for products and services.
Drive product family thrust with the company's and supplier's local sales teams and customer by attending supplier meetings, establishing sales programs in coordination with SSM and SBM, as applicable, to increase product knowledge for customers and company sales representatives.
Create demand for products and services by making technology recommendations to customer and sales teams. Meet with customer design staff to qualify products.
Educate customer on company product design and develop working knowledge of customer product selection processes.
Educate customer on technology solutions for customer end products.
Provide customer and company sales staff with resources/tools for design.
Communicate value-added capabilities and services to customers.
Support the EOL process as defined in the PBG.
Independently maintain knowledge of products, competitors, technology and customers in assigned product family.
Apply technical /marker/product expertise to position company as the distributor of choice to suppliers.
Coordinate meetings for opportunity, registration and design reviews including quarterly business reviews with sales management.
Support Company training initiatives; serve as subject matter expert for training content; reinforce training received by setting individual action plans and providing constructive feedback to subordinates; review content, schedule and attend supplier or vendor sponsored product or process training.
Identify and communicate roadblocks to PBGs and make improvement recommendation; support PBG objectives; evaluate market conditions and identify inventory strategies; participate in TAM to DTAM conversion plans.
Knowledge and Skills:
Must have strong leadership, organization, communication, presentation, and business strategic planning skills.
Strong business acumen.
Relationship building skills are also extremely important.
Knowledge of the Electronic Distribution industry is required.
Must possess extensive product/commodity expertise.
Knowledge of competition strengths and weaknesses, and product forecasting are a plus.
Position requires a strong product and technology background.
Work Experience:
A minimum of four years of relevant job-related experience is required.
Education and Certification(s):
A Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
