Summary:
The Consultant is responsible for project delivery of storage infrastructure at major datacenters or customer locations. Services can include maintenance and troubleshooting, planning for growth, auditing performance, installation and implementation services of new storage equipment, primarily NetApp HW and SW solutions, but can include HDS, EMC, etc. Likely project services include installation, data migration, training, and one or more application integration services (SnapMirror and all SnapManager products). Other tasks include working with the client to support their projects, managing your own schedule and travel to meet client needs in a fiscally responsible manner, delivering all services in a timely and professional manner, and always achieving high customer satisfaction.
Implementation services require an individual with excellent technical skills as well as the ability effectively communicate, take work direction, able to work independently, and have ability to think of whole picture when solving day to day problems.
Essential Functions:
Help clients via phone or in person to determine optimal configuration to meet technical and business requirements. Work with client to define requirements / consult with client for efficiencies. Familiarity with IP networking as it relates to storage networking. Storage operating systems and upgrades. Train and consult with customers in IT best practice methodologies and storage software products.
Qualifications / Requirements:
College degree or equivalent work exp (4 years) plus 10
yrs exp in a multi-platform IT environment
Works comfortably in stressful situations (technical abilities)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven consistent, accurate work performance
+5 yrs VMWare and Storage experience
+5 yrs Backup and Recovery experience
+5 yrs administering and Migrating Windows Server 2k3/2k8
+5 yrs Active Directory
+5 yrs of experience in mission-critical data center environment(s)
+5 yrs of experience in key data center protocols including iSCSI, Fiberchannel and NFS/NAS
+5 yrs hands-on experience with data center storage switching (i.e. Cisco MDS, Brocade, McData, etc.)
Advanced level certification in one or more of the following technologies:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Microsoft MCSE / MCITP
VMWare
Storage/Data Center certification from any major manufacturer (i.e. EMC, NetApp, HP, IBM, Hitachi, etc.)

Experience:
Typically a minimum of 6 - 8 years of successful experience within a consultative selling model and advancement in client facing roles. Demonstrated expertise of practice discipline. Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining relationships with high-level clients. Established track record of successfully leading the development and delivery of high revenue growth, profit and client satisfaction consulting and services solutions. Demonstrated complex client engagement experience, with large, significant projects. Relevant consulting, fee based services experience.
Education and Certification(s):
BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing or a related field or equivalent combination of formal education and directly related experience. MS/MBA helpful.
