Palmetto Primary Care Physicians, a leading independent physician group, has a PRN opening for an Ultrasound Tech. The Ultrasound Tech, under the supervision of the site manager, is responsible for assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care management. Technician will work in the Diagnostic Center.
Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and answer any questions they may have.
Maintain ultrasound equipment and clean equipment and room as indicated by manufacturer .
Perform the ultrasound ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images of every angle/section that must be assessed.
Evaluate the images for their quality, but also to interpret what was captured in the image.
Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team.
Maintain patient records and add medical notes related to the ultrasound procedure.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a graduate from an AMA approved School of Ultrasound. Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
One year medical experience in a physician's office or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred. BLS Preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
