Opportunity
Parsons Construction Group, Inc. (PCG), a division of Parsons is a direct hire heavy civil contractor that focuses on P3, Design Build & Design Bid-Build infrastructure projects in the US and Canada. PCG has world class construction expertise, capability and proven track record in self-performing a broad range of infrastructure projects. PCG is seeking an Engineering Intern to work collaboratively with estimating and project staffs to develop safe, innovative and cost-efficient means and methods including temporary works design for a variety of heavy civil construction projects. This position performs construction engineering tasks for estimating and construction phases of the project under the supervision of a Senior Construction Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation conceptual and final designs (drawings and calculations) of temporary works including formwork, false work, work trestles, support of excavation, shoring towers, cofferdams, girder erection, crane lifts, demolition, marine construction, etc.
- Assist in the preparation work plans for construction activities
- Assist in developing structural details and construction plans
- Assist with constructability reviews for drawings, specifications and submittals
- Prepare material quantity takeoffs
Special Skills
- Basic use of Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge of Autocad
- Competent in reading plans and specifications preferred
- Basic knowledge of basic survey and layouts preferred
- Ability to prepare clear and concise oral and written communications
Qualifications

Working toward BS in Civil Engineering or similar field from an accredited institution


Working toward Engineer-in-Training (EIT)


Familiarity with any type of construction preferred

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
