The
Wood River Refinery
is located in Roxana, Illinois, about 15 miles north and east of St. Louis, Missouri, on the east side of the Mississippi River. It is Phillips 66''s largest operated refinery, with a crude oil processing capacity of 311,000 BPD. The facility receives crude via pipeline from a wide variety of sources including the Gulf of Mexico, Canada, and the US. Refined products are distributed to customers by pipeline, truck, barge and railcar.
Description:
The Wood River Refinery has many opportunities related to on-line process analyzers. We need a candidate who is motivated to lead our analyzer business and drive improvement in analyzer reliability and availability.
Responsibilities may include:
Safety/Environmental
Be a proactive leader in all aspects of safety, auditing hardware, coaching personnel and leading by example
Assist the environmental group in compiling quarterly analyzer data for submission to the environmental agencies.
Work with contractors to perform annual stack testing (RATA's) on refinery environmental analyzers.
Analyzer Program Improvement
Assist in the training, development and qualification requirements for analyzer crafts.
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of analyzer engineering standards.
Assist in the identification of bad actors and the development of analyzer routine maintenance and preventive maintenance (PM) procedures.
Assist in the development and execution of the analyzer long range plan.
Participate on the corporate analyzer best practice information sharing network.
Develop and implement a QA/QC program for analyzers.
Routine Maintenance Support
Assist maintenance group in troubleshooting analyzers and analyzer sample systems.
Develop and maintain analyzer documentation.
Development of Analyzer Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP.
Work as a team with the analyzer maintenance, Instrumentation, and Control Systems groups to support operating areas and projects.
Assist in the development and implementation of analyzer safe work practices.
Participate in root cause analysis of analyzer failures and incident investigations.
Perform audits of analyzer systems.
Promote teamwork, purpose, professionalism and pride of craftsmanship to analyzer technicians.
Project Support
Provide input and assistance to analyzer projects from conception to commissioning.
Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
3
years of experience with on-line analyzers in a refinery, petrochemical plant, or similar industry
Instrument and control systems experience in a refinery, petrochemical plant, or similar industry
Must have strong computer skills
Understanding of basic chromatography and physical property analyzers in petroleum refining streams
Understand various analyzer technologies and hardware and how they apply to petroleum refining
Understand sample conditioning principles and hardware and how to apply them to process analyzer systems
Understand codes and standards and how they apply to process analyzers, particularly NEC and NFPA 496
Understand SQC/SPC principles and how to apply them to process analyzers
Preferred:
Experience as a process engineer or analyzer mechanic
B.S. in electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or chemistry
Refinery Analyzer Systems experience is preferred.
Experience with SAP
Familiar with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI/INtools)
Experience with Applied Automation Optichrom Advance
Experience with Daniel Gas Chromatographs
Experience with Hamilton Sundstrand Pionir NIR/FTNIR
Experience with B&W; (KVB Enertec) CEMS DAHS
Experience with Antek Total Sulfur Analyzer
Training on analyzers and sampling systems desired
Understand CFR 40 Part 60 and Part 75 regulations and how they apply to environmental analyzers
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to accurately and clearly communicate both technical and practical information
Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to work productively in a diverse team based working environment
Possess a strong desire to learn, strengthen and build skills, and keep up with analyzer technology, appropriate standards, codes, and environmental regulations as they apply to analyzers
