Role Summary : BFO - Interior Trim - Garnish System
Lead Garnish Trim development globally with a focus on excellent quality, meeting major GVDP milestones on time and with excellence, enabling great design, achieving cost, quality and performance metrics across the vehicle portfolio.
Key
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate leadership behaviors & coaching skills commensurate with GM's workplace of choice objectives
Work closely with Interior SMT, Safety Integration & Purchasing Leadership to leverage strategic suppliers and implement new technologies on GM product programs.
Lead the balancing of imperatives across the global portfolio and ensure VTS, SSTS and CTS are achievable and compatible.
Willingness to travel as required
Responsible for garnish system global strategies (create, update, maintain, & communicate)
Responsible for garnish system global best practices (create, update, maintain, & communicate)
Responsible for garnish trim SOR template (create, update, maintain, & communicate)
Responsible for PRE-VPI target setting & imperatives that match the sub-system global strategy
Responsible to understand competitive segment, customer expectations and to create and maintain a lessons learned and read across file.
Responsible for garnish trim special projects / CCC component development (e.g. new tether clip)
Shared responsibility for validation templates (with Validation Engineering) to create, update, maintain, & communicate (create, update, maintain, & communicate)
Responsible for DFMEA templates (create, update, maintain, & communicate)
Work with cross functional team to meet MCO (Material Cost Optimization) targets
Launch / issue support as necessary
Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.
Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Leads and likely directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor of Science - Engineering
DFSS Green Belt
Extensive experience within garnish trim sub- system and/or interior integration with demonstrated levels of outstanding performance, communications, organizational & planning capabilities.
Proven leadership skills which translate to high degree of inner self confidence and ability to motivate others.
Exceptional cross-functional communication skills of complex issues to enable world class designs, packaging efficiency and vehicle integration, within and across SMT's.
Demonstrated ability of dealing with ambiguity to enable timely decision making.
Consistent collaboration of global & regional teamwork for critical issue resolution.
Demonstrated people leader skills to motivate and lead team members.
Ability to manage a multitude of assignments with high levels of composure and effective implementation.
Expert level manufacturing knowledge (e.g. injection molding, LPIM, gas assist, secondary processes, gages, etc)
Individuals at this level are expected to operate with a high level of independent judgment, and are typically responsible for implementing functional strategy, administering and coordinating programs, counseling and advising management.
Working level knowledge of the following systems / processes (GM or industry standard): E-squared, PRTS, SOR, Peer Reviews / E2KS, GVDP, GD&T;, Red-X, Vis Mock-up, DFMEA, FMVSS, Roof Rail Air Bag, supply chain management.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Project

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
