# Job Description
The manager of accounting policies is an integral member of the V&D; global division financial reporting and accounting team. The role requires day to day interactions with financial and non-financial personnel of over 30 reporting entities. The manager of accounting policies assists in the review of transactions to ensure that they are recorded in accordance with IFRS and Group policies while providing accounting guidance to the various reporting entities. This role will report directly to the associate director of accounting policies.
Review of financial information and performance of monthly and quarterly close activities, which include:
Balance sheet, income statement and cash flow reviews of V&D; sites
Prepare footnote disclosures (OI&E;, Restructuring, etc.)
Maintain and reconcile monthly the intangible assets portfolio and related amortization
Maintain and reconcile monthly the financial investments
Prepare quarterly revenues by product for the 4 main sites
Tie out quarterly press release information for Group reporting
Prepare monthly consolidated V&D; Cash Flows and related analysis slides
Key contact to the external auditor quarterly reviews including preparation & delivery of requested
information
Review of annual results of smaller reporting entities. Assistance in preparation of the annual Intangible asset impairment testing and quarterly impairment indicators review in accordance with IFRS. Assistance in preparation and tracking of monthly and ad-hoc analysis, project and process improvements.
# Minimum requirements
Minimum Bachelor's degree plus professional accounting designation
5 years plus working experience in public accounting, with preference of experience in the biotech or
pharmaceutical industries.
CPA certification
Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP is required.
Excellent financial statement and financial information analytical analysis skills, with a high focus on
accuracy and follow-through.
Preparation of accounting memorandums.
Experience with SOX and internal controls.Ability to multi-task and works well with a tight deadline and
dynamic environment with multiple deliverables.
Audit experience with a multinational public company is preferred.
Experience with accounting for revenue recognition (multiple elements, collaborations, etc.) and business
combination transactions is preferred.
Experience with goodwill and intangible assets impairment testing is preferred.
Cross-functional and multinational partnering skills and driving projects and results in a matrix organization
is preferred.
Experience working in an international environment across numerous time zone and cultures.
