_ Position is in MOHS Surgery Dermatology @ Riverside 1 in Roanoke, Virginia _
Support Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Provides basic technical clinical services and clerical support in the delivery of quality patient care as directed by licensed staff, physician or mid-level practitioner. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served. Complies with all federal, state, and local agency requirements and standards; and Carilion and CMG policies, procedures, and standards.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education: Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) required.
Experience: One year experience in physician office or surgical background preferred.
Licensure,
certification, and/or
registration: Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through a recognized national professional association such as, the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists or the American Registry of Medical Assistants must be obtained with in 90 days. May be hired on a AAMA provisional status once the applicant receives the letter that they have taken the test and have a provisional passing score. AHA BLS-HCP Certification required.
Other Minimum
Qualifications: Effective communication skills in order to work with the public. Computer skills to utilize database systems to perform job duties required. Must be able to problem-solve. Keyboarding required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. _ Computer skills are required. Attention to detail is critical. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and multi task at the same time. Must be a team player. Will assist physician with surgical procedures. _
