SRA is seeking Senior Cisco Network Engineer to join our program which manages and operates state-of-the art network and telecommunications infrastructures 24 hours per day, 7 days a week for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). On this program, you will provide high-speed network access, network security, telecommunications, wireless, and cabling for scientific and administrative communities. SRA has designed a network and security infrastructure in order to comply with the Office of Management and Budget's (OMBs) Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) initiative for DHHS. The secure network provides a high-speed, highly-available network infrastructure for the entire DHHS. SRA is responsible for the design, implementation and operation of an agency's LAN and WAN network infrastructure. For the TIC initiative, we will be consolidating external network connections to three TIC facilities to service the needs of DHHS.On this Network Engineering team you will support day to day operations as well as help to design and implement a fully Cisco 100G architecture in a BGP, MPLS environment for the DHHS TIC. You will be part of a team of 6 Network Engineers covering 3 shifts, working alongside 2 Network Architects, a Technical Manager and other contract and client staff. Position is for full time employment with SRA, working on a long term program, from our client''s office in Bethesda, MD off Fernwood Rd. The current opening is for a 1st shift schedule (7 am - 3:30 pm, working 5 consecutive days, either Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday). There may be a few times a year, when you will need to cover a different shift so the SRA team can provide 24x7x365 coverage. If your shift falls on a holiday, you would work that day and take an alternate day off for the holiday. In this role, you will be required to pass a Public Trust Level 5 clearance for the HHS agency. Key Responsibilities include:- Test, document and implement the Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) Access Provider (TICAP) infrastructure for TICAP cutover from existing HHS ISP connections- Integrate Network Management, AAA/RADIUS/TACACS and DNS systems in support of the TIC infrastructure- Work with Senior TIC engineers, NIH, HHS, and OPDIV stakeholders to develop, test and document configurations for TIC infrastructure components including provider edge routers (connected to CPE routers) and assist in the cutover and migration of internet services to the Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) Access Provider.- Work with Cisco and other vendor engineers to ensure proper configuration, testing and implementation of TIC infrastructure equipment.- Troubleshoot and support Telecommunication domains such as WAN and DWDM circuits, working with vendors and other networking departments as needed- Design network traffic flows using the following routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP- Support Cisco routers and switches, Fiber Optic and Ethernet cabling; configuring HSRP, GLBP, and VRRP technologies on Cisco Systems equipment- Oversee network monitoring equipment using Authentication Authorization and Accounting (AAA) functions including RADIUS, TACACS, and Secure-ID implementations- Work with Network management and Monitoring tools to facilitate monitoring and managing of the network equipment and circuts; using SNMP agents, traps, and collection via Network Monitoring / Management utilities- Assist in the production of Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) documentation supporting the TIC Project and other TIC technical documentation as assigned.

BA/BS Degree and 6
years experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Experience with Cisco routers and switches, Fiber Optic and Ethernet cabling.
In-depth experience with two or more of the following Routing Protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
Experience with MPLS and operation of a high-speed WAN networks (such as SONET, VRF, point-to-point, OC12, OC48, OC192 Gigabit and 10 GB/s circuits).
Hands-on experience in operating, maintaining and managing diverse, enterprise networks, Data Centers and telecommunications domains with a large scope and complexity from a technical, functional and service delivery perspective.
Strong working knowledge in the following switching (L2) elements: VLAN''s; trunking (802.1Q and ISL); spanning tree; port aggregation (EtherChannels).
Experience with SNMP agents, traps, and collection via Network Monitoring / Management utilitiesCandidate will be required to pass a Public Trust Level 5 clearance for the HHS agency (to include criminal background investigation and credit check).Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
