Description and Desired Qualifications
_CH2M HILL Project Safety Manager Jobs - Billings, Montana_
The challenge? Helping ensure the supply of our world's oil and gas. At CH2M HILL, we deliver solutions that span the entire breadth of the energy industry. Our Project Safety Manager job will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting oil and gas projects in Western United States. Each day you will be an important team leader responsible for the implementation, maintenance and supervision of the Safety Management Plan for one or more construction projects. You should be a self-motivated, detail oriented professional with 5 or more years of progressive work experience in the Safety field for heavy construction projects.
Our Project Safety Manager :
Maintains and updates the site specific safety plan
Conducts New Employee Orientation, various training modules including but not limited to OSHA 10, Confined Space, Respiratory Protection and Supplied Air training
Oversees the D&A; testing program and record keeping; collects and enters all employee training data; schedules and coordinates pulmonary function and respiratory fit tests
Determines sufficient PPE requirements for all employees according to specific assigned job/task and distributes PPE to staff and employees
Maintains a close working relationship with the client HSE team and takes a leading role in joint activities when appropriate
Facilitates weekly safety meetings
Monitors work permits and field activities and conducts frequent field and shop safety audits
Oversees quarterly equipment inspections and coordinates emergency evacuation activities
Maintains first aid supplies and provides first aid treatment
Develops and distributes accident or incident reports and facilitates investigations
Establishes safety goals and objectives
Chairs the project safety committee
Monitors compliance with client and Company policies and programs and reports findings to operations leadership
Continuously monitors the hazard recognition process by inspecting Pre-Task Safety Planning activity and documents
Purchases, maintains and calibrates all atmospheric monitoring equipment Maintains OSHA required employee medical surveillance
SPECIAL NOTE : CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H-1B visa, etc.) to fill this position. This position is onsite in Billings, MT.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Health and Safety or related Engineering field from an accredited college or university
5 years of HSE experience in an oil refinery, chemical manufacturing or heavy industrial setting
2 years of experience working in oil and gas, power or other heavy industrial environment
Working knowledge of petrochemical processes and equipment
Experienced in SCBA and Industrial Hygiene procedures and equipment
Thorough understanding of all federal and state regulatory requirements
Ability to recognize hazardous conditions/behaviors and recommend corrective measures
Excellent interpersonal communication and mentoring skills
Good computer skills including MS Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the basic qualifications, the ideal candidate will also possess the following preferred
Qualifications:
10 years of HSE experience in an oil refinery, chemical manufacturing or heavy industrial setting
Prior risk management experience
Experience in a Union workforce environment
Experience interacting with demanding clients
Strong leadership skills
Strong injury case management skills
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
