SQL Database Programmer .NET:
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide technical support in the Quality Engineering department towards developing new database applications, and/or conversion of existing databases and reporting applications primarily using .NET
Heavy focus required on data conversion, data integration, and reporting methods. Create scripts for regular data maintenance or bug fixes. Review, analyze and document data and workflow processes.
Assist with administrative maintenance of various relational databases including performance tuning. Implement data models and database designs. Assist in the resolution of database capacity issues, replication, or other distributed data issues.
At least five years developing relational database applications with a primary focus on SQL techniques.
Good data analysis skills, application troubleshooting and writing skills are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop and maintain PC-based business process and database applications. Create scripts, data maintenance and/or bug fixes.
Write SQL statements for ad-hoc query and report generation.
Consult with Quality Engineering to determine business and functional requirements and identify solutions.
Prototype new applications in simplistic manners prior to release to refine requirements.
Analyze, define and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interface with systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configurations.
Write and maintain functional and technical specifications.
Analyze code for problem resolution and performance optimizations.
Provide technical consulting and respond to error reports, problems or questions.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Languages: .NET (VB, ASP, C#), DHTML, JavaScript, SQL 2000/05/08 SQL and XML
Databases: SQL Server 2008, MS Access
Web Development: Web Services, XML, HTML, DHTML, ASP.NET, JavaScript, Crystal Reports
Tools: Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2010, SQL Server 2010, Microsoft Office 2010
At least five years of experience developing relational database applications with complex MS SQL experience and creating scripts, testing in QA and implementing large data updates into production databases.
Demonstrate ability to work as part of an application development team; create structured code for integration into larger systems, document work for maintenance in a production environment, create task lists, timelines and deliverables, work to meet project schedules determined by others.
Adheres to full project life cycle principles from requirements specification through maintenanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
