Progress Rail Services, a Caterpillar Company and a leading provider of parts and services for the railroad industy throughout North America and worldwide, has openings for _ LOCOMOTIVE ELECTRICIAN _ _with experience repairing and replacing electrical components of Locomotives_at our Mayfield, Ky. facility.
The Locomotive Electrician will be responsble for repairing, replacing, and performing work on electrical systems for Locomotives and other duties as assigned in accordance with specialized quality standards and within compliance of the FRA requirements.
Duties:
Evaluate Electrical Systems in accordance with FRA and Company Standards
Install/repair/replace electrical systems in compliance with Locomotive requirements
Evaluate analytical data and permit needs
Correctly prepare and maintain records/reports
Up-keep of vendor projects list
Gather data for sustainable index
Develop and maintain records and data necessary to evaluate compliance with regulatory and company standards
Other duties as assigned
Involves frequent climbing, bending, lifting, stooping, and standing for long periods of time on concrete and gravel surfaces
May be required to work outside in all types of weather conditions (rain, sleet, snow, wind, dust, extreme cold/heat)
Qualifications:
Minimum of a two-year technical degree in the electrical field is a plus
Experience directly related to installing, repairing, replacing electrical systems in Locomotive or industrial electrical systems wiring
Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of efficiency
Ability to compose/maintain large amounts of documentation in accordance to FRA standards
Be a team-player with a positive, can-do attitude
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of working with locomotives
Must have and maintain a valid driver''s license
Must be able to pass a criminal records review for the last 7 years
Must be able to pass a post-offer fitness for duty medical review and drug test
