Job Description:
The Performance Scoring Center is looking for individuals to assist in the scoring of the ACT (Math) exam. The start date will be tentatively May 12th, 2014 to approximately June 20th, 2014. Training sessions will be held at the beginning of, and intermittently throughout, the project. Attendance for training sessions is mandatory in order to participate in the project. The work schedule will be 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. Applicants must be able to work 30 - 40 hours per week.The workload for scoring is sometimes unpredictable. Scorers are employed on an as needed basis. There may be days or parts of days when scorers will not need to report to work and some scorers may be released from the project early if the number of tests we receive does not meet expectations. It is also possible that the project could extend past the anticipated end-date.

Qualifications:
Two-year (Associates) degree in math or a related field to be considered for the project. All scorers must successfully complete a qualifying exam after training. Scorers who do not qualify will not be able to participate in the project.
This position is located in Iowa City, IA. Relocation is not available.
Starting salary is $11.85 per hour.
Finalists for this position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background check as a condition of employment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
