We have an immediate need for a direct hire Liability Claims Manager to work in either Milwaukie, Oregon office or Redwood City, CA. We would expect the candidate to earn $83,500 - $103,000 per year. In addition this position has a profit sharing potential of 15% of base salary. Profit sharing is never guaranteed and is based both on company performance and individual performance.

Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to successfully manage a team of professional Liability Claims professionals to provide superb claims results for our clients.

Specific job duties and responsibilities include:
1. Develop and lead a team of liability claims specialists who have accountability for customers in multiple jurisdictions. This includes ensuring that there are performance objectives and performance metrics in place to both support and meet department goals.
2. Provide direction, leadership and training to in-house claims professionals.
3. Partners with key Claims Management to develop strategic and operational plans aimed at achieving efficiencies so that the department can meet its Critical Success Goals and the business unit can meet both growth and profitability targets.
4. Work closely with other business partners to create and implement business plans for the region which highlight marketing, loss cost and expense management.
5. Establish, refine and evolve best-in-class claim management program operating characteristics, measurement criteria, and meaningful metrics benchmarking.
6. Provide advice and oversight into claim disposition strategies.
7. Work closely with claims adjusters and outside counsel to ensure cost-effective and appropriate litigation management strategies are in place that will lead to the best overall outcome.
8. Drives continuous improvement through initiatives involving the employees, processes and technology.
9. Supports the professional claims selection process to retain claims professionals that consistently demonstrate appropriate technical expertise, maturity and a professional commitment to excellence and customer service.

The successful candidate will have the following
Qualifications:
1. Must have good business acumen (i.e. understand how an insurance company works and makes money, including how this role impacts both the company's and our customers' ability to be profitable).
2. 8 years claims experience, 5 years in a Claims Supervisory capacity.
3. Strong leadership and management skills.
4. Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build consensus both internally and externally. The ability to read and write English fluently is required. The ability to read and write Spanish fluently is considered a plus.
5. Strong customer service focus
6. Strong analytical and presentation skills
7. Ability to work with Business Unit leaders at strategic level
8. Strong litigation management skills.
9. Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, approximately 10% of the time. Employees are expected to have sufficient credit available to incur travel expenses (i.e. airfare, lodging. meals, rental car) for duration of the trip and be reimbursed by the company.
10. A strong focus on execution in getting things done right. Proven ability to consistently produce and deliver expected results to all stakeholders.

21. A bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration, insurance or a related field is required.
22. Other relevant professional designation is desirable.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
