We are currently seeking Jr. Bioinformatics Programmer to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

TASKS/SERVICES
Integrate computational methods to facilitate the acquisition and analysis of bioinformatics information.
Facilitate the data accumulation and maintenance of biological based data and develop applications that process this information into searchable databases for purposes of analysis, calculation and presentation.
Develop web based bioinformatics tool kit for integration of genomic, gene expression data and results from all to query download (using SQL queries).
Analyze data including data visualization by pre-defined scripts written in R-statistical program.
Independently perform research of moderate level problems under the review of a scientist or higher-level analyst.
Conduct complete projects of moderate scope or portions of larger projects.
Conduct literature review and help prepare manuscript drafts with an incentive to publish.

REQUIRED
Master Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
Two (2) years of related experience.
Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following:Advanced skills in one or more scripting languages
Database administration or development;
Programming (C++, Java, or Perl, etc.);
Web page design (HTML, CGI, JavaScript, PHP etc.);
Software integration with instrumentation;
Genomic computational experience; and/or the
Writing of scripts, macros or the use of API.
Proficiency in SQL and/or other RDBMS.
Ability to process a large amount of genomic data efficiently.
Solid science background.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of bioinformatics concepts, methods, and tools.
Familiarity with genomic data, tools and databases.
Strong initiative and ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and projects.
Demonstrated attention to detail and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of NLP methods.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
