Tittle: Network Engineer
Job Description: Responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of the enterprise-wide network and related infrastructure.
Essential Functions: o Provide high level support and technical expertise in networking technology, including Cisco and HP routers, switches, firewalls, etc. o Interface with IT and business groups for network related projects. o Assist with network designs, root cause problem elimination, and capacity planning of corporate network infrastructure. o Manage network infrastructure projects as required and provide project management support for critical projects. o Manage communication and coordination during network outage situations. o Guide technicians from different groups to work together to resolve outages and restore business functionality as quickly as possible.
Experience: o A minimum of 5 years' hands on experience working in a highly available network environment o Media experience a plus
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: o Knowledge of LAN/WAN network protocols including EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, Spanning tree, HSRP, QOS, and PIE o Excellent written and verbal communication skills o Creative problem solving abilities o Ability to handle multiple, complex, long term projects simultaneously o Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation o High degree of initiative, dependability, and the ability to work with little supervision o Excellent Communicator with a friendly and professional approach
Education: o AA in Computer Science or comparable experience
Licensing/Certifications: o CCNA or CCNP preferred o VOIP a plus
Working Conditions: o Working conditions are typical of an office environment o Ability to travel up to 25% o Frequent walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, talking, listening
