Overview:

Responsibilities:
General duties includes computer entry, assisting customers, answering the telephone, running errands, operating standard and specialized office equipment used in daily operation of the department, copying, database, spreadsheet and file maintenance of various media types. Assists in cataloging, indexing, identifying and labeling documentation, records and files of various media types for efficient retrieval and purging.
Maintains and updates databases and spreadsheets for all documentation as required to support configuration management; provides research and queries records and data as requested for information regarding status of technical documentation affecting configuration. Provides clerical functions in support of and in response to customer requests. Assists and supports Documentation Coordinator and Documentation Specialist as needed.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years general clerical experience required. Must type 40 wpm - test required. Must be able to pass proficiency test in Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Access, Adobe, Acrobat, Web and Internet applications, directory and file maintenance preferred. Knowledge of engineering, design, construction and configuration control experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop, phone or during filing. (90%)
May require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. (2%)
Work Environment:
An inside environment/cubicle (considerations: closed quarters, close together, lighting). (90%)
Travel between various facilities at SSC may be required and may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (
Equipment and Machines:
Requires ability to operate a personal computer (typical software used is Microsoft Office), a telephone, copier, and other general office equipment. (100%)
Attendance:
Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Attendance is critical at all times. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday to Friday. (100%)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
