The Payroll Manager will oversee all aspects of payroll internal controls and procedures, including developing and enforcing standards to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing. Directs and governs daily operations of Payroll in both the United States and Canada including reporting and maintenance of processes and procedures. Provide leadership and guidance regarding establishment, improvement, and enforcement of payroll best practices.
o Oversee multi-site US and Canadian payroll processing and administration for accurate completion of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls
o Develop and recommend policies, procedures and operational reports to establish effective and efficient payroll processes
o Provide support to Finance Department relating to payroll charges, funding and account reconciliation
o Responsible for reporting payroll funding to the Finance team to ensure appropriate cash management
o Oversee 401k and deferred compensation deductions and ensure transmittal and controls of employee and employer contributions
o Manage payroll processes for internal control and Sarbanes Oxley compliance
o Conduct routine review of tax and other filings prepared by payroll vendor to ensure accuracy
o Stay current on changes in tax regulations and filing requirements
o Register with new state and local tax agencies and interact with agencies to ensure corporate compliance
o Oversee quarterly and year end payroll adjustments, W2 filing and distribution
o Oversee payroll escheatment process and report unclaimed wages to Finance for annual reporting to state agencies
o Oversee and manage annual and quarterly bonus, review calculations and ensure accuracy
o Compile reports for periodic and annual audits, for both internal and external sources
o Overseeexpatriate payroll tax andreporting requirements
o Develop, implement and modify system requirements while maintaining internal database files and tables
o Develop custom reports to meet the requirements of company management and staff
o Manage annual reporting for Workers Compensation Audit, and 401k plan audits
o Educate HR and Payroll administrators on best practices and roll out policy and procedures
o Identify training needs of end users, develops and provides necessary training
o Identify and implement methods for continuous improvement
o Minimum of 7-10 years of payroll experience
o 4 Year College or University degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or other related field, or equivalent experience required.
o 2 - 5 years prior leadership experience preferred
o CPP preferred
o Experience working in a large multi-national company
o Advanced knowledge ofMulti-State payroll, using multiple federal tax ID's (FEIN)
o Experience withCanadian payroll processingin Ontario and Quebec
o Strong background inadvanced Excel
o Strong understanding of HR data elements and dependencies

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
