Position Description: Administer, support, and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases in OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) e-commerce database environment for internet travel service company. Specifically, responsible for all phases of database administration on production environment, with emphasis on performance troubleshooting, analytical problem solving, and business customer support. Conduct database performance tuning and optimization, database server specification, performance tuning and analysis, and database disaster recovery planning and recovery. Configure and monitor SQL transaction replication, database mirroring, and transaction log shipping. Analyze and resolve database performance issues and identify problems with execution plans, index coverage, and SQL server statistics. Administer and configure databases in Windows 2008 clustered environment.
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a computer-related occupation. Experience must include: 1) Database administration, data analysis, PL/SQL; 2) Administrating and configuring databases in Windows 2008 clustered environment; 3) NoSQL technologies (Cassandra, MongoDB), Oracle, MySQL, and Linux operating systems; 4) RDBMS system and architecture, including MS SQL 2000, 2005, and 2008; 5) Database mirroring and Active/Passive cluster; 6) Database disaster recovery planning and recovery solutions, log shipping, and transactional replication on pre-preproduction and production environments; 7) Supporting 24x7 mission critical ecommerce SQL server environment; 8) 24x7 high traffic OLTP environment; 9) Database performance tuning and optimization; 10) Database server specification; and 11) Identifying problems in areas such as execution plans, index coverage, and SQL server statistics.
