Liberty Mutual Personal Insurance, IT Information Management is actively searching for a Technologist of BI and Data Integration to provide technical leadership on all aspects of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Data integration, Reporting and Visualization. In this position, you will drive design patterns, standards and leading edgepractices and their adoption with the broader IM team to ensure quality, effective solutions and maximize business value from reuse in a global environment. This position requires extensive technical expertise in business intelligence,ETL, relational and dimensional databases and visualization tools.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to BI/DW projects in the areas of optimal design patterns, models, standards and sample code to ensure consistency and realize benefits of a high-performing, secure, reliable and scalable architecture.
Collaborate with GS IT architecture team to develop a practical end state and reference architectures for BI/DW with considerations for distributed data, in-memory computing, cloud computing, visualization tools/platforms.
Provide early design guidance on projects by creating a high level design document in collaboration with the project technical staff and incorporating the patterns, models and standards previously identified.
Provide technical leadership in areas such as master data management and reference data management to reduce duplication and redundancy for core data objects.
Work with the data governance team to ensure alignment of data definition, quality specifications, models and meta data management to technical implementations.
Responsible for pro-actively monitoring the effectiveness of technology governance in BI/IM projects and ensuring adjustments are made to the process in collaboration with the PMO group.
Oversees the translation of logical data models to physical database designs Manages the designs of detailed data architectures (project & program related) and designs and builds relational and dimensional databases.
Define data-backup and recovery strategies and solution designs that meet business needs
Use change management skills and knowledge to encourage adaption of current methods and adoption of new methods of information management.
Influences senior leaders and all levels of business and IT staff on all areas of technology.
Maintain keen knowledge of technology trends in the industry in the areas related to databases, in-memory computing, distributed computing, SOA, Data Warehousing, Visualization tools, Self-service, ETL and MDM.
Evangelizes the forward thinking possibilities and associated benefits of adopting new technologies and retiring obsolete ones.
Develops relationships with the larger development teams that promote trust and increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Bachelor''s or Master''s Degree in technical discipline or related experience; Generally more than 10 years related experience with 5 years in a technical lead or architect role
Must have significant experience in BI/DW technologies preferably Teradata, MicroStrategy, Informatica PowerCenter.
Must have experience with evolution of tools and platforms related to reporting/analytics including Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Power Pivot, Power View, BI Semantic Model
Must be experienced implementing high performing technical solutions related to ETL with large source environments and patterns related to ODS, MDM, RDM, Landing/Staging areas and DW/DMs.
Proficient in skills such as SQL, data mining, multi-dimensional models and development of cubes.
Knowledge of developing and maintaining formal documentation that describes the data and data structures including data modeling
Ability to work with senior technical and business resources providing technical guidance related to data architecture and governance
Preferred experience diversity with other leading Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse packages: Teradata, Informatica, Cognos, Business Objects, MicroStrategy or SAS.
Experience in Insurance industry preferred (P & C). Must be able to connect detailed understanding on business concepts, goals and processes to technical solutions/architecture (e.g. quote to cash, finance, underwriting, risk management etc.)
In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities.
Experience in researching business inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies always focusing on creating increased business value.
Highly developed analytical, negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
Exceptional skill and proven track record of highly developed oral and written communication skills; including very strong presentation and collaboration skills.
