Job Details: Under the direction of the Practice Manager and within established policies and procedures, the Patient Service Representative performs the following functions:
Essential Functions:
Answers phones and greets visitors, providing information, taking messages, screening and routing calls appropriately. Takes service off in the a.m. and back on at the end of the day. Checks patients in and out on patient days, creating charts, verifying patient information, and photo copying insurance cards. Checks for co-pays and overdue balances, referring patients to Patient Account Representative. Enters the patient information into the computer. Checks on missed appointments. Calls to confirm appointments. Backs up other front office duties, as needed, such as vacation or sick times. Orders office supplies. Attends required meetings and educational seminars. Participates in appropriate role in disasters, fire drills, fires and other emergency situations. Exercises care in the operation and use of equipment and reference materials. Performs routine cleaning and preventative maintenance to ensure continued functioning of equipment. Maintains work areas in a clean, safe and organized manner. Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed.
Qualifications:
Education: oHigh School Graduate or equivalent.
Experience: oTwo years of related work experience in a hospital or medical office setting preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
