Summary
The Deferred Compensation Product Advisor will assist in the administration and management of the non-qualified deferred compensation (NQDC) plan including implementation and administration of all deferred compensation products and services. This position will interact directly with C-suite executives, Benefit Administrators and HR professionals at member cooperatives to provide expert guidance on how non-qualified deferred compensation plans can be used most effectively and efficiently to meet the executive compensation and related business/tax objectives of taxable and tax-exempt cooperatives and related governmental entities. These plans include, but are not limited to, Pension Restoration Plans, Executive Benefit Restoration program and other types of deferred compensation arrangements including those covered under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 457(b) and 457(f). In addition, this position is accountable for enhancing the overall reputation of NRECA by providing extraordinary customer service to many of the most influential decision makers at our member cooperatives.
Purpose and Mission
Work closely with Director of Retirement Product Management, I&FS; leadership, NRECA's General Counsel's office (legal and compliance), Communications, Relationship Management, Actuarial and the cooperative membership to apply appropriate benefit related methods and compensation plan designs to solve our cooperative's business related issues.
Prepare analysis and presentations covering Pension, 401(k) and Non-Qualified retirement products to NRECA leadership, relationship management, CEOs and Board of Directors.
Assist in the management of an integrated NQDC products strategy geared toward cost-effective account administration and ease of use.
Design, develop and implement deferred compensation and benefit restoration products to resolve business challenges facing our cooperative members with respect to attraction, retention and rewarding of key employees
Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of all reporting and communications related to NRECA's deferred compensation programs. Work with NRECA's General Counsel (legal and compliance) to maintain and revise prototype plan documents, contract forms and other documents necessary for new implementations as well as changes being made by existing clients.
Track and analyze the rules and regulations related to deferred compensation benefit plans in order to provide the most current and accurate guidance to both the membership and NRECA staff. Remain current on related proposed and final statutory and regulatory changes.
Maintain all historical executive compensation data in accurate and usable form. Review and update executive status changes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with CEBS (or CEBS in progress) preferred

years of experience in retirement benefits and/or executive deferred compensation, or similar analytical role, retirement plan administration
Experience in all elements of executive compensation from analysis to executive communication and presentations.
Familiarity wirh ERISA rules/regulations as they apply to retirement, savings and deferred compensation programs
Knowledge of Defined Benefit plans and actuarial concepts
Experience in investments/asset management; mutual fund a plus
Ability to multi-task and work in an environment with multiple deadlines and requires working both independently and as part of a team
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
Proficiency in MS Office, MSWord, PowerPoint, MS Excel spreadsheets and MS Access databases
