Job Description
UIC Technical Services (UICTS) is an Alaska Native holding company owned by Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corporation (UIC). UIC Technical Services is based in Alexandria, VA. UICTS and its Bowhead family of companies provide our government and private sector customers'' expertise in areas such as program management, systems engineering/integration, logistics/supply support, software management/development, IT services support, aviation logistics/performance based logistics (PBL), configuration management, risk management and training/simulation support.

Bowhead is looking for an General Maintenance Worker to manage the day-to-day maintenance of multiple Simulated Submarine Training Devices in a classified training environment. The Technician will:

Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
Follow all company, DoD and industry safety standards while performing all duties on site.
Follow all company Quality SOP''s while performing all duties on site.

Please note that physical demands will be in a submarine survival school training environment and the work environment will be in a 50/50 mix of a heated, cooled and outside environment elements.
Required Skills
Ability to perform maintenance in a classified environment
Ability to perform maintenance on DoD Simulation Devices
Qualified General Maintenance Worker.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the SECRET level.
Required Experience
High School diploma and a minimum of 5 to 8 years of related work experience.

Candidates must follow all company Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program Requirements.
All post-secondary education listed on a Candidate s application and resume must be verifiable, including but not limited to dates of attendance and degree/diploma awarded. Post-secondary education includes any courses taken through an accredited college or university in pursuit of a degree.
