This is anexciting client-facingBusiness Analysis opportunity. The ideal candidate will have spent the past 5
yearsanalyzing complex business problemsto be solved with automated systems; provided expertise and assistance in the development of large complex information systems; and created specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
The BA Team takes the lead role in documenting the business processes anddeveloping the application tool requirementsnecessary for supporting the Central Reservations program. The BA Team collaborates with their Business and IT partners to ensure business requirements, expectations, controls, and schedules are met during application development, testing, deployment, ongoing operations, and application enhancements.
Usingoutstanding interpersonal and technical skills, you will act as a liaison between our business, development, and testing teams. You will be responsible formanaging the requirements lifecycle, performing system analysis, and producing requirements-related documentation for projects and system enhancements. Examples of this documentation include, but are not limited to Business Requirements Documents, Use Cases, and Wireframes. You will be able to work independently within a team, receiving general direction with occasional work product reviews and assistance.
This position is based in Stamford, CT, with the ability to work remotely up to two days/week.
Position Highlights
Translate Business Requirements
Collaborate with project stakeholders to translate their requirements into something that can be built by IT.
Serve as liaison between the business and the development teams, ensuring the best technical solutions are developed for the business needs. Help the development team understand business processes by creating diagrams and supporting documentation as needed.
A key skill needed in this part of the process is the business analyst's ability to distill the differing messages and needs of project stakeholders into a single, consistent vision.
Lead Requirements Process
Facilitate requirements meetings with business and technology teams.
This includes eliciting, documenting, and validating requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions and workflow analysis.
Identify, develop and recommend opportunities to improve existing processes or provide new value to business areas through the application of technology solutions.
Translate Technical Issues
Break down technical and architectural complexities so that project stakeholders can easily understand any issues that arise.
Develop deep understanding of source systems, business usage, data issues, etc.
Support Quality Assurance
Work with project stakeholders to validate and verify their requirements and be a liaison between project stakeholders during the Testing phases of projects.
SPECIFIC PROJECT RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
Function as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their strategy, processes, rules and systems in order to provide innovative recommendations on efficiencies and solutions.
Facilitate structured requirements sessions to elicit requirements, process flows, data flows, business rules, risks and assumptions; champion requirements throughout the duration of the project.
Effectively communicate requirements to Information Technology teams, managing changes/clarifications to the requirements as needed.
Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into details that the team can easily comprehend.
Participate in design and development meetings with project teams to provide perspective on the needs of the business users and help to resolve issues arising during the project.
Ability to influence a diverse group of team members and subject matter experts.
Gather/analyze/document business and application requirements, leading to the development of a business solution.
Develop requirements specifications according to project lifecycle methodologies.
Work with the Business Relationship Manager, Lead Business Analyst and other Information Technology professionals to prioritize work to meet milestones and complete deliverables on time.About You
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
5
years of recent business analysis experience performing duties similar to those outlined above.
Analytical thinker who can resolve problems and negotiate solutions that balance user needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effectively communicates technical information to non-technical staff and non-technical information to technical staff.
Worked on projects with budgets of $1MM or more.
Client/Business facing experience in driving the functional design of projects.
Worked in large enterprise environments.
Ability to work with team members and stakeholders at all levels, in a positive and team-affirming manner.
Strong self-management skills, including the ability to manage time and workload against priorities and objectives.
Demonstrated ability to respond to changing and sometimes ambiguous situations.
