Volt's client, a leader in the semiconductor industry located in Hillsboro, OR, designs and builds the essential technologies that serve as the foundation for the world''s computing devices. They are looking for a Computer Lab Technician who has experience with thermal measurements.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Soldering proficiency with rework experience on very small 0201 size components used in mobile devices.
Experience in using data acquisition systems to measure
Ability to make power calculations - Ohms law etc.
Ability to understand thermal data
Ability to disassemble and reassemble small mechanical devices (e.g. cell phones)
Familiarity with applying thermocouples and making temperature readings.
Fluent with Windows based programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience in generating test reports.
Experience with inner workings of PC, OS, drivers, etc.
Ability to flash new SW images in memory and make power measurements.
Initiative to contact driver developers etc. and resolve issues encountered during booting and running applications/use cases.

Qualifications:
Experience working in the lab environment.
Knowledge in thermal analysis, mechanical testing, particle characterization is an additional advantage
Basic computer skills (Excel, Power Point)
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail.
Great communication skill set both oral and written.
Education and/or Certificates:
Prefer a bachelor or above degree, such as Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or current education towards a degree, or experience in an industrial or academia analytical laboratory work.
Bonus Skills:
Familiar with Smartphone OS (Android, iOS, Windows 7).
Familiar with Smartphone PCB layout/component
