Counter Sales / Warehouse Job Description
As a counter sales / warehouse employee, development begins directly in warehouse operations. This proficiency includes, but is not limited to warehouse proficiency; picking, receiving, shipping and inventory management. You will then begin development in counter sales. Priority areas include establishing customer relationships, filling orders, sizing and selling equipment and limited telephone marketing. This position requires knowledge of our products, as well as excellent time management and interpersonal, and communication skills. Responsibilities:
Counter Sales
Determines customer replacement HVAC/R parts, according to inspection and/or verbal description.
Uses computer, catalog, telephone or any other resources to meet or exceed customer needs.
Recognizes products most commonly purchased by customers and resolves commonly encountered issues.
Recognizes and identifies HVAC/R parts and equipment to fulfill customer needs and answer questions.
Processes customer transactions by entering and printing quotes, as well as processing warranties.
Balances cash drawers, creates credit invoices, processes pick/pack orders and will-call.
Helps achieve sales and profit targets and follows sales process, including resolving customer complaints.
Maintains image of Johnstone Supply by ensuring an exceptional customer shopping experience.
Communicates features, function, use, and benefits of Johnstone products.
Stays informed of new products and utilizes opportunities to educate self, co-workers and customers.
Warehouse:
Receiving, storing and loading products at a rapid pace.
Attention to detail, keeps records as products enter and leave the warehouse.
Help to ensure that warehouse is kept clean and safety codes are followed.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, officials, and customers.
Physically counts inventory items to verify accuracy on a regular basis.
Investigates and reports reasons for discrepancy errors in computation or count.
Qualifications:
Counter Sales
A High School Diploma or a G.E.D. Associates or Bachelor's degree.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the team.
Technical Diploma in HVAC/R and at least two years of work experience in the HVAC/R field (preferred).
Two years experience in a wholesale environment with counter experience in HVAC/R industry (preferred).
Must be a customer and detailed-oriented individual.
Must have the knowledge, skills and ability to provide All Star customer solutions.
Must possess excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
Energetic and effectivedemeanor with a positive attitude that is conscientious, enthusiastic and articulate.
Uses logic and reasoning to identify the best solution, conclusion or approach to problems.
Must be willing to learn and keep current with the latest developments and technology in the industry.
Proficient computer skills (MS Word or Excel or similar software related program.)
Must be able to comprehend business math calculations and run a point-of-sale terminal.
Must be able to research HVAC/R items and help prepare required sale and customer reports.
Demonstrate diplomacy, tact, and a professional demeanor.
Warehouse
Valid IN/OH/KY/WV driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
Increasingly responsible experience in warehouse receiving, picking, shipping and stocking.
Ability to lift cases that can weigh up to one hundred (100) pounds.
Working knowledge of a computerized inventory control system.
Proficient computer skills (MS Word or Excel or similar software related program.)
Experience in inventory and materials control procedures.
Knowledgeable in business math calculations and run a point-of-sale terminal.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
Excellent physical health is required as this position will involve (loading and unloading supplies).
The work is physically demanding and requires lifting, bending or standing for long periods of time.
Training and certification are required by material handlers to operate heavy-lifting machinery like forklifts.
Capable of relating to people of diverse ages and demographic backgrounds.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
